The duty for sailors to rescue those in distress at sea is both international maritime law and a long-standing and strongly felt moral obligation among seafarers. The fact that British and European governments are now criminalising such a basic and instinctive act of humanity says a lot about how absolutely Fortress Europe is spiraling into barbarism. A new British law brought in by the Tories now threatens lifeguards in the @RNLI, (and anyone else at sea), with life in prison for rescuing refugees drowning in the English channel. Quite heroically the RNLI have made a statement that this will not change how they respond to those in distress.
AMAZON BLUE YONDER
I drew this on the day of Jeff Bezos’ first sub orbital space flight in 2021. I hoped it would be a premonition, but maybe we’ll get lucky if Elon ever takes a ride in one of his own rockets. One pretty funny thing about those idiotic tourist flights is that they put Captain Kirk on one of them to help promote the venture and he came back utterly depressed. Here’s what he said when he got back- William Shatner: “The other folks went straight into somersaults and enjoying all the effects of weightlessness. I wanted no part in that. I wanted, needed to get to the window as quickly as possible to see what was out there. “I love the mystery of the universe. I love all the questions that have come to us over thousands of years of exploration and hypotheses… all of that has thrilled me for years… but when I looked in the opposite direction, into space, there was no mystery, no majestic awe to behold… all I saw was death. “It was among the strongest feelings of grief I have ever encountered. The contrast between the vicious coldness of space and the warm nurturing of Earth below filled me with overwhelming sadness. Every day, we are confronted with the knowledge of further destruction of Earth at our hands: the extinction of animal species, of flora and fauna . . . things that took five billion years to evolve, and suddenly we will never see them again because of the interference of mankind. FREE THE PRESS – EXTINCTION REBELLION
I’m happy that Extinction Rebellion have used my ‘Don’t Believe Everything Billionaires Tell You’ image as part of a their #FreeThePress campaign. It’s an uphill struggle to convince the public of the urgency of the climate crisis with the media consolidated in the hands of handful of billionaires who’s interests are best served by our continued reliance on fossil fuels. Extinction Rebellion’s blockade of Rupert Murdoch’s printing presses last year was one of their most impressive and effective actions to date. Prints, t-shirts, stickers and postcards of the original artwork are available from my shop.

CLIENT JOURNALISM
I had to leave some of the most obsequious client journalists out of this or else I’d be painting hacks for the rest of my life. This idea came from my hobby of adding examples of client journalism to the subtitles of a screenshot of Ri Chun-hee, the famous North Korean news presenter. POLICE PROTEST SIGN
My sign at the #KillTheBill May Day protest in London (Photo by Joe Kibria). ‘Blue bib’ cops at protests are there to gather intelligence on protesters which the police then use against protest movements. The Police monitoring organisation Netpol found evidence from FOI requests that ‘Police Liaison Officers’ at protests are trained in intelligence gathering, and information they acquired through friendly chats at protests has been later used in prosecutions against peaceful protesters. The nationwide protests were about the dystopian police powers in the new Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill currently being pushed by the government. It would outlaw any protest which caused ‘serious annoyance’, i.e every protest worth its salt, would expand attacks on Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities and increase already misused stop and search powers. PRIVATISED PAVEMENTS

I designed a new poster for Brandalism’s ongoing campaign focusing on HSBC’s empty climate promises. Billboard and bus stop posters were installed around the UK by Brandalism and volunteers from other anti-advertising groups. Massive thanks to everyone who put these in the street. NEW CRYPTOCURRENCY
Made this video after by Dad told me about the prayer he was told to say as a kid in 1950s County Leitrim. Christ is said to have promised to release 1000 souls from purgatory every time St Gertrude’s Prayer is recited. Seems like a weird way of running things, but then again what do I know about the administration of afterlife torture facilities?
