FILTON 25 AND FILTON FOUR

Home Office ads on the Overground announcing some of the dystopian new rules that have been brought to bear against the #Filton25, now the Filton Four, who are being sentenced *as terrorists* on Friday, after being convicted by a jury on…
YES LOITERING

A sign I made for the new show at Museum of Homelessness, CRIMINAL, which runs until the end of October 2026. The sign also featured in The Guardian’s review of the show.
HELL BIKE AT ‘THE BIG ONE’

The Hell Bike I designed for Fossil Free London got plenty of action last weekend at The Big One demos outside Parliament. It had a great reaction at the protest and I was really happy to see it in its stationary and marching modes. The banners are retractable depending on what the bike is being used for (and how windy it is). I wanted to make something that is as versatile as possible for all the different types of actions and protests it will be needed on, as it’s not just a straight-up art thing, it actually needs to be useful! As for the Hell Bus I hope to have some news about that in the coming weeks..
SOLIDARITY WITH JEREMY CORBYN

Solidarity with @jeremycorbyn who has far more patience for the Labour Party than I ever will. Pictured here when he called in to the Hell Bus at @theworldtransformed last year. Im so angry about what the right wing ghouls who run Labour and the hacks in the press have done to Corbyn and the way they smeared our movement as cranks and racists, when we simply wanted a better world unleashed from the neoliberal death march. Now they’re doing the same thing again while telling us we’re Tory enablers if we don’t roll over and thank them for it. All this, while they reshape the party into one that actual racists will feel comfortable voting for. And not a peep from the press about any of it. They’ll never get my vote again. Absolute worst people in the country. I’m so grateful that I have an art practice where I can put this anger or else I’d be getting arrested right now. Fuck Starmer. I will see him in Hell.
HELL @ SCIENCE MUSEUM
Project from last year where I installed additional exhibits in the Shell sponsored carbon capture (CCS) exhibition at The Science Museum in London. Massive thanks to everyone who helped record this project.
HELL STATION

An addition to a petrol station. See video below for how it got there.
A POSTCARD FROM HELL

I made this matte painting forced perspective photo opportunity in Los Llanos De Aridane in La Palma, Canary Islands so tourists could take a postcard photo of what the city could look like after a fossil fuel powered flood. I was invited as part of Trashplant Festival alongside some incredible street artists, including my old friend Isaac Cordal.
CARBON CAPTURE AT THE SCIENCE MUSEUM – BROUGHT TO YOU BY SHELL

Some impromptu new exhibits appeared today as part of the Shell-sponsored carbon capture exhibition at the Science Museum, London. I thought it was weird that an exhibition about carbon capture, paid for by an oil company, didn’t once mention that 81% of all the carbon *ever* captured by this technology has been used by oil companies and pumped back into oil wells to help extract more oil. Seems like a significant omission (ok yes we can call it a ‘carbon omission’) Also thought it was weird that the exhibition didn’t mention that oil corporations are some of the biggest investors in carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology. No doubt because of how useful it is to them in getting more oil out of the ground, while being able to pass it off as a ‘green technology’ for tax breaks and marketing purposes. But now at least, for a time, the Science Museum exhibition does mention those things, as well featuring a great new idea about a super useful product to turn all that captured carbon into.
DIGITAL AD SPACE EFFICIENCY RATING

I made some Energy Efficiency Rating stickers for digital advertising spaces to let the public know just how much electricity these things burn through per year. You can get four stickers for £1 from my shop: www.spellingmistakescostlives.com/product-page/energy-efficiency-rating-sticker-for-digital-ad-spaces (For legal/research purposes only obvs)
HELL BUS ON JOE LYCETT

My Hell Bus project about Shell’s greenwash advertising featured in the 2021 Channel 4 documentary Joe Lycett Vs the Oil Giant (Watch the full documentary here). The Hell Bus is currently free to visit at the Museum of Neoliberalism in Lewisham, London every weekend until the 4th June 2022. More information on the Hell Bus at RoyalDutchHell.com.
HELL BUS AT SHELL HQ

I brought the Hell Bus down to Shell HQ today with Joe Lycett. Parked it outside for almost an hour while the staff inside went into a self-imposed lockdown. The bus was being filmed for a new documentary Joe is making about Shell’s greenwashing PR, which will be out later this month. More details when I have them! The bus will be going to Glasgow for COP26 at the end of the month, and the exhibition inside is still under construction. I’m posting regular updates of my DIY nightmares over on my Instagram story.
POLICE PROTEST SIGN

My sign at the #KillTheBill May Day protest in London (Photo by Joe Kibria). ‘Blue bib’ cops at protests are there to gather intelligence on protesters which the police then use against protest movements. The Police monitoring organisation Netpol found evidence from FOI requests that ‘Police Liaison Officers’ at protests are trained in intelligence gathering, and information they acquired through friendly chats at protests has been later used in prosecutions against peaceful protesters. The nationwide protests were about the dystopian police powers in the new Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill currently being pushed by the government. It would outlaw any protest which caused ‘serious annoyance’, i.e every protest worth its salt, would expand attacks on Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities and increase already misused stop and search powers. PRIVATISED PAVEMENTS

Privatised pavements now allow pedestrians more choice in selecting their level of safety and convenience when crossing the road. This project was possible thanks to my backers on Patreon who’ve enabled me to get a 3D printer. Massive thanks for the support!
DON’T TALK TO THEM – POLICE PROTEST SIGN

DROP THE METRO

The Metro newspaper is owned by the Daily Mail and every copy that’s picked up helps financially support the UK’s most extreme right-wing publication, (second only to the BNP annual newsletter.) As part of my residency with RRU News I’ve had 2000 of these stickers printed that you can help me add to Metro distribution points around the country. Hopefully these might make some people think twice about picking one up. If you’d like some stickers, they’re free +p&p. Get them here. #News #Subvertising

ROSKILDE FESTIVAL, DENMARK

Just two days after Glastonbury, Pocket Money Loans opened a new store at Roskilde Festival, Denmark, which has also unfortunately just had to close due to lack of child-customers interested in mindlessly expensive financial products. That said, it was a fantastic festival in a brilliant country. I can’t tell if I’m more tired from work, booze or laughing. Massive thanks to everyone who visited and especially those who helped run the shop and kept me on the verge of sanity especially David Matthew Jones, Gary Barber and Kirstie Fleck off of Is Tropical and her brother Tom Fleck. FAKE OYSTER CARD

It took awhile but I finally got the RFID chip out of an Oyster card and put it inside my own fake cardboard Oyster for use on the London transport system. #Daft
