My NUKE Powder box is being shown as part of a new exhibition at the Peace Museum in Saltaire, West Yorkshire (just north of Bradford) which runs until the 30th August.

From The Peace Museum website:

Fifty years ago, a group of people in Manningham, Bradford came together to defend their community from those who wanted to divide and intimidate. Feelings were running high, but rather than fuel the hate with anger, they decided to respond with a different tactic. Armed with nothing more than teddy bears and balloons, they chose to counter hatred with silliness and solidarity.

They were part of a long tradition of people who understand that laughter can do things that anger cannot. It disarms, it defuses, it includes, it makes the powerful look ridiculous.

The exhibition celebrates the long tradition of joy, humour and absurdity as tools for peaceful protest – through stories both local to Bradford and from across the world. Get involved in a summer of silliness at The Peace Museum!
