DOPE magazine is mutual aid

Distributed for free to anyone who wants to sell it on the street.

Vendors keep all the money from sales.

It’s solidarity not charity.

INTELLIGENT ARTICLES that GO ON THE ATTACK

DOPE is a quarterly magazine about politics, art and culture. It focuses not only on raising awareness of injustices but also possible solutions, taking action and building towards radical social change. We’re run on anarchist principles and our content aims to increase involvement in anarchist forms of organisation.

Each issue features first hand accounts and opinion, from more established writers to more marginalised voices – including precarious workers, homeless people, sex-workers, queer folx, and racialised groups. You’ll find contributions from the likes of Benjamin Zephaniah, Sleaford Mods, Amazon Workers Union, The Museum of Homelessness and Jeremy Corbyn MP.

BEAUTIFUL ART THAT PACKS a punch

Art is an essential part of our propaganda. Pairing up artists with authors, we adopt a collaborative approach to visual storytelling. In the tradition of radical street propaganda, we believe art should inspire action.

DOPE features a range of aesthetics, from socially conscious street-art to insightful illustration. We’ve previously featured artists including Molly Crabapple, Phlegm, Paul Insect, Stanley Donwood, Peter Kennard, Rebecca Hendin, Clifford Harper and Gee Vaucher.

DOPE believes that beautiful things are for everybody, not just the rich – there’s nothing too good for the working class.

what people are saying

  • Thanks everyone for your support and making me the happy & proud vendor that I am today! Also remember to buy a copy off me personally at Finsbury Park Tube Station and Highbury Barn if you’re in the area!

  • Dog Section Press is an anti-profit publisher, and a worker-owner co-operative, but DOPE stands uniquely and explicitly as a money-making scheme. The difference is, it takes cash from those who can spare it, adds surplus value and generates more cash for those who need it – essentially socialising its profits.

  • Just thought I would feedback from the vendors. They are full of praise for the mag, and say they are selling well. Jeff who has been selling the Issue for years said to me yesterday that it sells better than the Issue...

People’s Republic of Stokes Croft (Bristol)

  • SUPPORT THESE LOT ... one of the best and most active crews out there. Great politics and great content.

Carl Cattermole (author HMP Prison Survival Guide)

  • Get involved! More than ever, we need grass-roots activism, education and writing. Dog Section is the cutting edge!
